Our Major Projects

We do functional assessment of our trainees and place them in vocational training units where they learn skills that match their abilities interest and aptitude. Training is given in a number of vocations. Trained from the vocational training centre join the work centre where they put their skills to use and earn a stipend. Here all boys and girls are at work every day making an impressive range of products to the highest quality standards. We market the products they make and take orders from various organizations. Some of our higher functioning trainees have gone on to take up jobs in the open market proving themselves to be diligent conscientious employees.

  • Food items preparation-Potato Chips, Papad with Sabudana etc.

We got registered with National Trust, Govt. of India, New Delhi in the year 2003 & we received the sanction for starting “SAMARTH” Project from the year 2006, September. This Project continued till June 2014. The main objective of the scheme was to provide a safety net to families in crisis. The scheme was for residential services, both short-term (respite care) and long term (Prolonged Care) for adults and destitute children.

The scheme included activities:

  • Early Intervention
  • Special education
  • Pre-vocational & vocational training
  • Employment oriented training
  • Recreation, Sports etc.

Facilities were available to both male and female on 50-50% basis & covered all the disabilities like Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Mental Retardation & Multiple Disabilities. The scheme was formulated to taper off over a period of nine years and the ceiling for number of Projects in each state was based on number, size of population & geographical spread.

LOCAL LEVEL COMMITTEES (L.L.C.)

The concept of Legal guardianship which has been the unique feature of National Trust Act gives Local Level Committee (LLC) the Power to act as quasi-judicial body for appointing and Monitoring Legal Guardian. LLC’s are constituted in every district of the country (except J&K) for a period of three years or till such time it is reconstituted. The core composition of L.L.C is :

THE CORE COMPOSITION OF L.L.C. IS ;
  • Chair Person not below the rank of District Magistrate / Deputy Commissioner.
  • A representative of an organization registered with the National Trust and
  • A person with disability as per clause (F) of sec.2 of PWD Act. 1995
THE ROLE OF L.L.C.

The role of L.L.C. is to appoint the legal guardians and disability. Its role focuses mainly in two sub-groups :

Statutory Activities
(Legal Guardianship) includes receipt of Applications, Appointment of guardians and Removal of guardian if necessary. Recording and maintaining register and sending copies of certificates to the National Depository of Legal Guardianship certificates.
Other Activities
Awareness generation and Interactions on: National Trust Act 1999, PWD Act. UNCRPD. The opportunities abilities, schemes & programmes of the National Trust. Our Chair Person Dr. G.M.Singhvi is Member of L.L.C. at four Districts in Rajasthan: Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jalore and Nagour.

NIRMAYA HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME OF NATIONAL TRUST

Our institute offers the Nirmaya Health insurance scheme which is the best social impact scheme of India. It is a Health insurance policy for persons with develop- mental delay (Autism, C.P., MR & M.D.). It is been awarded the best social impact schemes of the country.

WHAT DOES IT COVER?

It provides the coverage of up to Rs. 1.0 Lac per annum (reimbursement only) for a range of medical treatments like Surgery, Therapy, OPD, Hospitalization and conveyance as per the sub limits. This scheme is available for all eligible people of the country without any discrimination of age, caste, or income. The contribution for enrolment & renewal is depending on income group as given below.

The renewal Process start 3 Months Prior and stop one month prior to the expiry of Policy.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM, COMMUNITY BASED REHABILITATION (C.B.R.)

Institute has recently started C.B.R Program in association with S.S.A. Our Rehab Professionals Clinical psychologist, Physiotherapist and Special Educator provide services to Mentally Challenged and C.P. Children and their families to bring about awareness on disabilities, care taking and legal documentation. This also gives an opportunity to observe the parent-child relationship in action which gives insight into family dynamics and reasons for behavioral patterns and developmental delay. We are also trying to enroll some of such children in our Institute to train them for education & vocation.

Recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)

The course is designed to train persons to work with intellectual disabilities. The Course Structure provides for a comprehensive understanding of the varied needs of persons with mental deficiency and to meet those needs in a special school and in regular class rooms. It is recognized by RCI, the only statutory body to give recognition and registration numbers to professionals in the field of Special Education under the RCI act.

Duration of Course : 2 Years

Basic Qualification : 10 + 2 and above (preference given to graduates)
Minimum Percentage of Marks: 50% aggregate for general category and 5% relaxation to OBC/SC/ST & others

NAVJYOTI RESOURCE CENTRE

Due to an acute shortage of trained special educators to teach CWDS, RCI-New Delhi initiated foundation Course (FCED) in special Education at Distance Mode. We started this course from 2003 and continued till 2012.
